Devoted, Down-to-Earth, and Specialized
Edward “Ed” Guldi is the head of The Perecman Firm’s workers’ compensation and social security disability law practices, advocating for the rights, treatment, and compensation of and for workers and their surviving families.
Since 2015, Ed has built his legal practice around a passionate dedication to seeking justice for the injured. He taps his extensive and impressive career in the workers’ compensation system to ensure a smooth and just experience for his clients, guided by an extensive knowledge of the claims system and disability law.
Never one to shy away from complex cases, Ed has a reputation as a fierce advocate in the fight to overcome both the common and uncommon denial of claims from employers and insurance companies alike.
To his clients, he is consistently known as relatable, easy to understand, and approachable.
Alongside the firm’s legal team, Ed consistently obtains multi-million-dollar settlements for his clients. He serves as a current member of the New York State Bar Association and has been selected among the top-ranked attorneys in New York by Super Lawyers (2022) and Super Lawyers Rising Stars (2018-2020), as well as U.S. News and World Report Best Lawyers (Ones to Watch 2021-2023).
A personal highlight of his career includes his extensive work on 9/11 cancer litigation. He worked alongside other legal practices to help turn a large majority of 9/11 cases that were once considered hopeless, into cases that could be won or settled, a cause that he was particularly passionate about.
About 20 years ago, almost all of the first responders who were suffering long-term effects resulting from working at Ground Zero following 9/11 were denied by the responsible carriers. Now, exposed workers can receive the benefits they deserve from legislative action that was championed by Ed Guldi and other members of the claimant’s bar.
While local and state rules and regulations involving New York’s social security disability and workers’ compensation benefits are ever-changing, Ed makes it his priority to keep up to speed on the latest developments, proposed legislation, and guidelines surrounding workers’ compensation, permanent disability, medical treatment, and Social Security disability law. He then passes that knowledge along to his team to make sure his clients have the best and most expert experience possible while under the care of The Perecman Firm.
To further support those affected by these laws, he teaches classes to medical professionals on the ways to best handle the challenges around recent changes to compensation law as a method of further aiding those who need it most.
Outside of the office, Ed is a family man who adores his wife and daughter, a voracious reader, and can play the violin beautifully enough to make even the stoniest listener shed a tear.
